Late Night

It's 2:38 in the am and it's a Tuesday night.
My mind refuses to rest because my hand wants to grab a pen and write.
Sitting up in my bed using my cellphone as my light.
Telling myself if I write a few lines everything will turn out all right.
It wants to write more than a couple lines about you.
This is what happens when your dreams reject you.
Because they have a clue that my reality is not tangible inside of my mental pictures, that are starring the heartbreaking, unattainable YOU.
I'm up writing these poems because I still have not given up on you.
And the only way I seem to express this is letting it all out with rhyming words and my "blogger audience" to view.
So I'm up at night freestlying this poem and the clock is hitting 2:47 in the am, and the hold that I have on you seems like it will never let me trade in, another feeling for the time being. My heart rather hold on for dear life until you give in, pull me back into your picture as your leading character before this night ends. 2:51 I writing with the moon as my witness, stars surrounding my skies because in this poem my Heart is in it. Goodnight for now (well until I do some more late night thinking) but until then stay awake and think about that one person that won't let you dream them.

  1. Great poem!!!
    It was amazing, honestly <3

My favorite line was "pull me back into your picture as your leading character before this night ends"

This sounds like a slam poem, is it?
Well good job, keep writing. ^__^
